Beets are a colorful and healthy addition to your diet.
Beet juice is an excellent source of vitamins, and is believed to have curative properties. Blend your beet juice with other fresh juices for a healthy, low-sugar treat, and use the leftover pulp in a variety of recipes, such as borscht or muffins. Removing the pulp isn't that difficult. It takes time and a little bit of patience, but with the right tools, separating the juice from your beet pulp will be a breeze. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Juice your beets according to the instructions on your juicer, or finely chop the beets and macerate in a blender with a bit of water.
2. Place a strainer over a mixing bowl and line the strainer with cheese cloth. Pour the processed juice and pulp from your juicer, or pour the macerated beets into the body of the strainer and allow the juice to drain into the bowl.
3. Press the processed beets with the back of a wooden spoon to get as much juice out of the beet pulp as possible. Gather the sides of the cheese cloth and squeeze the package over the mixing bowl to release any leftover juice. The pulp can now be used as desired.
