Sneak up behind an enemy to perform the special assasination move.
The instant-kill assassination melee has been a part of "Halo" games play since the first title launched in 2005. "Halo Reach," released in 2010, adds a bonus feature to the assassination move. The special assassination causes your viewpoint to switch to third-person as your character performs a unique animation while defeating the opponent. Executing a special assassination requires timing and an understanding of your position in the battlefield. Due to the fact that the special assassination takes approximately one second to kill your enemy, others can kill you before finishing off the move.
Instructions
1. Position yourself directly behind an enemy's back. The special assassination does not work from any other angle.
2. Move within melee range, meaning you are close enough to perform a melee and hit the opponent. The assassination does not work if you are not within normal melee range.
3. Hold down the melee button. The "Halo Reach" default melee button is RB. The camera zooms out as your character performs the special assassination.
