Camp At Moose Walk Atv Trail In Minnesota

You can play on an ATV and camp at the same time.

While you cannot camp on the Moose Walk Trail specifically, the ATV trail connects with the Red Dot trail system. This set of trails has camping accessibility throughout the Finland Forest where the Moose Walk Trail is located. You can ride your ATV on the trail system and pick exactly where you wish to camp during the open season, mid-May through the end of November.

Instructions

1. Call the Finland campground and find out the availability of the camping spots. You can contact the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in order to obtain this information.

2. Make a reservation for the nights you would like to use the campground. There are many trails in the area so you might want to stay more than one night.

3. Pack up your vehicle with the ATV's as well as all your camping gear. Be sure to bring plenty of water and food for the days you will be out in the woods.

4. Park at any of the parking areas located by the trails. You can park where you will be camping or you can start from the other end of the trail and load your ATV up with your camping gear.

5. Set up your tent and make sure you have everything you need. Try to get your camp set up before dark so you can clearly see the area where you are assembling your tent. It is easier to set up a cooking space and get your bearings if you are doing so in the daylight.

6. Ride your ATVs around all the trails. Bring a printed copy of the map so you can use it to navigate your way.
