Convert Cardio Minutes To Miles

Use your running time and speed to determine the distance of your run.

Whether you're walking, running or biking, cardiovascular exercise is an important part of a well-balanced exercise routine. Cardiovascular workouts can reduce risk of certain diseases, build lung capacity, increase lean mass and improve your mood. But too much can lead to injury. Keep track of the exercises you perform and maintain a balance between routines that focus on strength training, overall endurance, dexterity, weight loss and cardiovascular endurance. Consult with your doctor to develop a program to help you meet your goals; your physician or trainer can give you specific goals such as 20 minutes of running or 3 miles per day.

Instructions

1. Write down the total time you exercised in minutes and your speed in miles per hour. Find this information near the top of the exercise machine display.

2. Multiply the time by the speed; for example, if you ran for 30 minutes at 3 mph, multiply 30 by 3 to reach 90.

3. Divide the product by 60; for example, you would divide 90 by 60 to get 1.5.

4. Label the quotient in miles (1.5 miles).
