Disco

Disco

Disco music my be dead, but the dance is alive and kicking. Learning to disco can be fun and will get you in touch with a decade that is long gone. The bell bottoms aren't necessary, but the look may help you catch disco fever.

Instructions

1. Do the hustle. Step first with the right foot and take three steps forward. Hit your right foot against the left foot and clap. Repeat this motion backward beginning with the left foot, hit the left foot against the right foot and clap. Repeat the above move once again, and then step to the left side and kick your right foot behind the left. Repeat, hit the right foot to the left and clap. Repeat this move to the right.

2. Use your hands. In any disco club you will need to allow for room for some of these moves, but you can always do your best John Travolta impression with the signature pointed hand going across your body down toward the floor and the up to the sky with the beat.

3. Shake your hips. As you bend your knees in disco dancing, shake your hips. Dtep from side to side while thrusting your hips to the side.

4. Bump with your butt. This is a fun move to do with friends. Stand in place a short distance from your friend, and each you should thrust your butt away from the other. On the next beat thrust your butts toward each other for a butt-touching bump.

5. Do the box step. Step to the left and then pick your right foot off the ground and step back. Place your feet together and then step to the right and with your left foot step forward. Continue to do this step in a box formation. Repeat.
