Calculating body fat lost can give you the push that you need to get closer to your weight loss goal. Calculating your body fat is a good way to get an estimate of your biometric data. You can easily monitor your progress and see the trends on a weekly basis. There are many methods of making this calculation, including the use of scales, calipers or simply by using a formula. You can calculate your body fat by using a specific formula and get an accurate reading as with any other method.

Instructions

1. Remove your shoes and step on the scale. Stand still until your weight is displayed on the display panel. Write down your weight on a piece of paper.

2. Place the tape measure around your waist where the belly button is located. Make sure that the tape measure is not tight, but fits snugly. Write down the measurement.

3. Multiply your weight by 1.082, then add your result to 94.42. Take your waist measurement and multiply it by 4.15, then subtract the result from the result from step 2. This is your Lean Body Weight.

4. Subtract your weight from your lean body weight (the result from step 3). Multiply the result by 100, then divide the answer by your weight to get the percentage of body fat lost.
