Configure Multiple Domain Names To One Exchange Server

You can route email for multiple domains to one address.

Microsoft Exchange Server is an enterprise level email host. You can host email by configuring your Domain Name System (DNS) with a new Mail Exchange (MX) record and adding the domain to Exchange. The MX record allows email to be sent externally to the domain. It is fairly common for an Exchange server to bag mail for more than one domain. Hosting multiple domains does not require any special hardware or software, but you do have to go through a few extra steps.

Instructions

Configure DNS

1. Launch the "DNS Manager" snap-in from the "Administrative Tools" menu on the server.

2. Right-click on your server name and select "New Zone."

3. Mark the radio button for "Standard Primary" and click the "Next" button.

4. Leave the "Yes" radio button marked and click "Next."

5. Type in the name of your domain (e.g. myDomain.com) in the text box and click "Next." Finish creating the forward lookup zone by clicking "Next" again.

6. Create a reverse lookup zone by clicking "Next," select the "Standard Primary" and click "Next" again.
