Carry Stuff While Running

When running you can carry your stuff a few different ways.

Running can be a fun recreational pastime. However, if you're not a treadmill runner in your home or gym, storing your personal items on you can be hard when running outside. If you're going for a quick run, you may only need to carry a few items. If you're going for a long run or even running an ultramarathon, you may need to carry much more than you would on a short run. Knowing what your options are for each of your runs when it comes to carrying stuff can help you be prepared without being weighed down.

Instructions

Running Apparel

1. Look for fitness apparel with pockets. Fitness clothing is more commonly seen with pockets now, whether it be on the back of pants or shorts, or even on shirts. Even if the pockets are small, you will still be able to carry the essentials such as your keys, some money and identification.

2. Think about what you would carry with you. When shopping for running apparel, try it on and and put what you think you would carry on a run in the pockets. If the apparel is flopping around too much, then there is a good chance that your items will bother you on your run.

3. Know that most running shorts do have a small key pocket that can be located on the inside of them, usually within the liner on the front.

Shoe Wallet

4. Put a key and some cash or ID cards by using a shoe wallet that is like a pocket with a velcro strap and clip that goes over your laces.

5. Take the clip on the shoe wallet and slide it under the laces on one of your shoes.

6. Tug at the shoe wallet to make sure it is secure.

Runner's Pack

7. Find a runner's pack that is large enough to fit all of your essentials. It is like a fanny pack, but it's slim design and adjustable straps go around your hip so it doesn't move around.

8. Find one that adjusts enough to be large enough to fit you while still being snug that it isn't loose.

9. Jog a few steps before going out for your run with some items in it to see if you can handle the weight and the way it will feel around your waist.

Hydration Pack

10. Carry a hydration pack, such as Camelbak.

11. Take the reservoir pouch and unscrew the top and fill it with water.

12. Twist the cap back on and loop the tube that is attached to the pouch back through the backpack that it came in.

13. Fill up the pack part of your hydration pack in the compartments and test how much weight you are comfortable carrying.

Water Bottle With Handheld Holder

14. Remove the water bottle from the holder and fill it up with water.

15. Put the water back into the holder and slip your hand through the strap.

16. Secure the strap but adjusting it to fit your hand.
