Connect Z5500 Speakers Via Optical Cable To A Pc

Connect a surround sound speaker system to your computer.

The Logitech Z-5500 surround-sound speaker system is designed for a PC computer and provided digital surround sound audio. Although the equipment comes with a 3.5mm audio line connection cable (designed for the built-in line-in connections on your computer), you may have an upgraded audio card that supports optical cable inputs. If this is the case, you need to convert the 3.5mm audio cable into a optical connection cable.

Instructions

1. Connect the 3.5mm cable running out of the Logitech Z-5500's subwoofer into the 3.5mm end of the 3.5mm-to-optical digital cable adapter.

2. Plug the optical digital cable end of the adapter into the "Optical Cable In" port on the upgraded sound card.

3. Power on the computer and press the "Power" button on the Logitech Z-5500's control panel.

4. Click "Start"-->"Control Panel"-->"Sound" and select the output options. Change this to "Surround Sound" speakers and click "Apply" to approve the changes. You are now set to begin using your connected Logitech Z-5500 digital surround sound system.
