Donate Eggs For Money In Wisconsin

Infertility is something many couples face. Couples who have exhausted medical treatment to have a biological child may choose egg or sperm donation to create a family. Egg donors, in Wisconsin as well as in other states, can earn between $3,000 to $10,000 per egg donation as of November 2010. The state of Wisconsin does not govern egg donation; rather each egg donation clinic will establish requirements that you must meet to be accepted as an egg donor.

Instructions

1. Go to the library or bookstore to get books regarding infertility and egg donation. Make sure you understand the process you are getting into. Egg donation requires you to endure multiple office visits, medications, injections, blood draws and a surgical process to retrieve the eggs. You must also understand that while you will have a biological tie to the resulting child, you will not be the parent of this child and will likely have no contact regarding any resulting child.

2. Visit FertilityNation.com or FertilityClinicsDirectory.net to find clinics that deal with egg donations in Wisconsin. Wisconsin has several medical offices and egg donor agencies with whom you can choose to work. Wisconsin also has a reproductive endocrinology department within the Medical College of Wisconsin. Ask your obstetrician for recommendations for egg donor clinics or other physicians who need egg donors. This will serve as an additional resource for places you can contact.

3. Contact the clinics to inquire about the exact requirements for egg donation. Each clinic or agency will have varying requirements. General requirements are to be between the ages of 21 to 30, to be in good medical health, to have either had a child or given a child up for adoption and to pass a psychological exam. Some clinics will allow a person over age 30. Ask for the fees covered with your donation. If you have donated eggs in the past, you will be considered a proven donor and will earn more money for your egg donation.

4. Narrow down your choices for the egg donation clinics you feel most comfortable with. You are not required to use an egg donor clinic in Wisconsin, but if you choose to work with an agency outside of Wisconsin, you will need to be able and willing to travel for several weeks to complete the egg donor process. The cost of this travel is usually covered by the egg donor agency or clinic.

5. Complete the process for applying with the clinic or agency you choose. You will be required to fill out an application, meet with the clinic and pass all medical and psychological testing. If you are accepted, your profile will be sent out to prospective intended parents. If you decide to work with an egg donor clinic outside of Wisconsin, you may be allowed to have your medical testing performed in a local Wisconsin clinic and have the results sent to the agency. Testing usually involves ruling out any serious medical conditions as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
