Compare A P90x Chin Up Bar To A Power Trainer Pro

To use either chin up bar, the doorway must have a sturdy border trim to support the equipment.

The P90X Chin Up Bar and the Power Trainer Pro chin up bar are both designed to fit into a standard doorway. Subtle differences can make one seem preferable over the other.

P90X Chin Up Bar

The P90X Chin Up Bar is designed to hold up to 300 pounds and fit doorways up to 32 inches wide. As of September, 2010, the price was about $60 if purchased from Beachbody, the manufacturer, or as low as $44.89 for Beachbody Coaches. The design is of heavy gauge steel, it assembles in the doorway quickly and is removed just as quickly, and the variety of hand grips accommodate multigrip positions for different workout moves.

Power Trainer Pro

The Power Trainer Pro chin up bar sells for $35 to over $120 (as of September, 2010). This chin up bar is designed to fit doorways of 24 inches to 32 inches wide and hold a maximum of 250 pounds. One of the selling features of the Power Trainer Pro is that it can be placed on the floor or at the bottom of the doorway for assistance in additional non-chin up exercises.

Comparing Chin Up Bars

Determine your requirements in a chin up bar and write these down. These requirements should include maximum weight support based on the people using it, doorway size and budget. Visit the information sites for each chin up bar. Comparisons are easier if everything is lined up so it is helpful to write down the benefits of each and compare to the requirement criteria already listed.
