Food poisoning can render a gut-wrenching feeling of diarrhea and sometimes may require hospitalization. There are many ways to avoid food poisoning. Read on to learn decrease chances of getting food poisoning. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Cook all red meat thoroughly. Red meat such as beef should always be cooked thoroughly. E. coli is the most common type of food poisoning that can be picked up from uncooked or poorly cooked beef products. In order to prevent or lessen your chances for getting this type of food poisoning, it is recommended that you cook your beef until all the red disappears, use a temperature guide and thermometer when cooking beef and avoid eating rare beef.
2. Cook all fish and chicken products well. All chicken products and even some fish products if not cooked well can contain the salmonella bacteria. Salmonella is a very dangerous form of food poisoning that can cause severe diarrhea and even death if not treated in a timely fashion. To avoid this form of food poisoning, it is recommended that you cook your chicken until all the pink disappears and the chicken starts to take on a tender texture. You should also consider using a temperature guide and thermometer when cooking chicken and fish products.
3. Avoid eating in unkempt restaurants. Sloppy restaurant establishments tend to be ones that cook food in a hurry and don't really pay much attention to how thoroughly they cook your food. It is recommended that you avoid eating as such restaurants that have had a case or two of food poisoning incidents and should you get food poisoning from eating in such a place, you should report this to your local environmental control agency right away.
