Create A Gift Basket For A Runner

A gift certificate to a sporting goods store can allow the runner get a new pair of sneakers.

Running is becoming increasingly popular among those looking to be more active. It takes a little getting used to, but after awhile running becomes something you look forward to doing. For holidays and special occasions, you may be wondering what to give the runner in your life. A gift basket is a great present to give that’s easy to create and will surely be appreciated by the recipient.

Instructions

1. Add energy bars. These are great to have as an occasional snack and some runners use these for a mini boost of energy while running. Be wary of the nutrition content. While there are great ones on the market, some are packed with so many calories and grams of fat that it’s just like eating a candy bar.

2. Include a reusable water bottle. It’s important to stay hydrated during a workout and carrying a reusable water bottle is a good way to do that. Instead of carrying individual plastic water bottles the runner can use this and just wash it out for her next run. Choose a thinner bottle as opposed to a thicker one so it’s easier for the recipient to carry.

3. Put in a gift certificate to a sporting goods store. The recipient can pick up some additional items of his choosing. It’s also a good opportunity for the recipient to use the gift certificate toward a new pair of sneakers.

4. Include a running pack. It is worn during the run so that the recipient doesn’t have to leave home without their belongings or be forced to carry the items in their hands. This item is especially useful for those that do errands while they go on their run.

5. Buy a runner’s watch. This is a great item to give, especially for the runner that is trying to keep close track of her efforts and her improvement. Many of these watches can tell you how fast you are running, the calories burned and how many miles you ran. The watches vary in price depending on what type of features are included.

6. Add in a new running outfit. It doesn’t have to be expensive, a simple new tank top and a pair of shorts or tights will do. There is clothing that is made specifically for runners, but it will cost you a little extra. The clothing can be found in any sporting goods store.
