Whether it is your contribution to better a future society or a need for cash, donating sperm is an option available for some men ages 18 to 34 that are in excellent physical condition and have a clear medical history. But don't be to eager to make your deposit, there is a rather long and involved process that needs to be followed. Read on to learn donate sperm.
Instructions
1. Find a state-approved sperm bank or, better yet, find a few so that you can compare facilities. You can ask your regular doctor for this information or search through a phone book or online.
2. Make an appointment to meet with the sperm bank and find out the requirements for donation. With some clinics this information can be given over the phone and with others, it is mandatory for you to go in.
3. Collect a semen sample at their facility. This sperm sample will be tested for sperm count, motility, how well they freeze and any deformities. Depending on the facility you may be asked for up to three samples, in order for them to run the various tests.
4. Fill out an intense medical history about you, your parents, siblings and grandparents. It is best to have this information readily available, since you can be turned down for lack of information.
5. Have a complete and thorough medical examination, including giving blood, by a doctor at the sperm bank.
6. Read and understand the contract completely. You will have no legal obligations or rights to any children conceived by your sperm, you will be expected to donate on a schedule for an extended period of time and you are obligated to inform the clinic if your medical condition changes in any way.
7. Smile when you receive your first payment for donating sperm.
