Find A Running Track

To find a running track in your community, you can use technology to research the information that you need. The Internet is a useful tool to find information about your area such as local high school running tracks, recreational parks and local fitness clubs.

Instructions

1. Research the Internet to access databases for running tracks in your area. The USA Track and Field website has a database of over 334,000 running routes. Another resourceful website is sports-maps.com, where you can find existing sport tracks that you can search by location. (Res. 1.)

2. Use the Internet to search all the local high schools, colleges and fitness clubs within your area. Make a contact list of the ones within your desired vicinity so that you can call and inquire for more details.

3. Call the local high schools and colleges from your list and inquire about their running tracks and whether they are available to the public during a certain schedule, or for a fee.

4. Call the sports fitness clubs or gyms from your compiled list within your area to see if they have a running track available in their facilities either indoor or outdoor. Ask about membership fees.

5. Finally, make a list of all the running tracks that are available and compare your choices based on factors such as distance, price and accessibility.
