Crocheting is a suitable pastime for those of any age.
Runners can add an elegant and civilized touch to a table or desk. Crocheting your own runner is also a convenient way to custom design the size, texture and shape of runner you would like. You can easily adapt the dimensions of this crocheted runner to suit your specific needs, whether you prefer a longer, shorter or wider runner. If you would like, add a decorative lace trim or other edging to your completed runner.
Instructions
1. Chain 31 stitches using your contrast color yarn with a size-10 crochet hook.
2. Single crochet stitch in the second chain from the hook. Single crochet each stitch across. Chain one, and turn to work back in the other direction. Repeat this row until you have used almost the whole skein.
3. Switch to your main color of yarn and single crochet each stitch across. Continue working each row in single crochet until you have used almost all three skeins of your main color of wool.
4. Switch back to your contrast color yarn. Crochet until you have used all of the second skein. Fasten the yarn off. Weave in any loose ends with a yarn needle.
