Burn 900 Calories A Day

Jogging burns calories and increases cardiovascular health.

Losing weight quickly is a common goal among many people today. According to Diet Health Club, a person can safely burn between 900 and 1,000 calories a day for speedy weight loss. According to Family Doctor, 3,500 calories equals one pound of body fat. Burning 900 calories a day would be equal to an approximate weight loss of one pound every four days. By following a few simple guidelines and performing regular exercise, you can burn 900 calories every day.

Instructions

1. Consume a sufficient amount of calories to support the intense levels of exercise. By using a calorie counter (see Resources), you can calculate your body's daily caloric needs. You should eat for maintenance or light fat loss when burning 900 calories a day. If you eat any less, you might put your body into survival mode and severely lower your metabolism, lowering the rate at which you burn calories.

2. In-line skate for one hour daily---for an average person weighing 160 pounds, one hour of in-line skating will burn 900 calories. If you have a suitable area to in-line skate in your neighborhood, this is an easy way to have fun and burn calories while you do so. Alternatively, you can head to a in-line skating rink to get your daily exercise. This can be done in a single one-hour session or divided into two 30-minute sessions to burn 900 calories in a day.

3. Jogging at an average speed of five miles an hour will burn over 900 calories in just one hour for a person at an average weight of 160 pounds. If you're just starting out, it is best to divide the jogging into two half hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening. A treadmill works well for this as it keeps you at an even pace throughout your whole jogging session. Alternatively, if you live in an area where you can easily jog, plan a 2.5-mile route and time yourself to run it in 30 minutes twice daily.

4. Use customizable exercise machines in the gym---these machines log your age, height and weight to display how many calories you're burning as you use them. You can switch between several machines such as the stair stepper, rowing machine and elliptical trainer to burn your desired 900 calories. This allows you to keep your workout fun and interesting.
