Walking is essential to good healthy living. Finding the right walking shoes is essential to walking! So how can you choose the best walking shoes for you?

1. There are several things you'll want to look for when picking out a good walking shoe and several things you shouldn't look for. The first thing you must realize is, if you are serious about exercising this shouldn't be about what the design of the shoe looks like, but rather about how it will help you exercise. Looks aren't always that important!


2. The shoe needs to be very flexible. Flexibility is a must because when you are walking your foot needs to flex, and you don't want a shoe that is too stiff.


3. The shoe needs to have plenty of cushioning. If you are devoted to exercising like you should be, you'll be using these shoes a lot, so the cushion needs to stay intact.


4. Don't expect the shoes to stretch out or become more comfortable over time. If the shoes are too snug in certain areas when you try them on, you'll want to move and find another pair of shoes.


5. When you go to buy the shoes take a decent little walk around the store in them. The salesperson won't mind, and it is an absolute must to determine whether the heel slips any or if the shoe feels too tight anywhere.


6. If you do nothing else at all, please make sure you wear shoes that support your feet when walking! That means no sandals or high heels. It sounds crazy but there are always a few who try to do this kind of thing.


7. Most of all, take your time in the process. Finding the right pair of walking shoes can take some time, but it will be well worth it when you find the perfect pair for your feet!
