Pollyanna is an inspiring story about courage and optimism in the face of hardship and challenges. Pollyanna is perhaps the most beloved and lovable orphan in all of fiction. She was played to absolute perfection by Hayley Mills in the film of the 1960's. Here is how you can create a Pollyanna costume of your very own.
Instructions
1. Place a long, blond wig on your head. You want to braid it loosely. A perfected head of hair will not serve Pollyanna. Her hair is unkempt. She has more important things on her mind.
2. Wear a raggedy old dress, but give it a few frills. Pollyanna received her dress from charity. She has an imagination so she has improved it a bit. There's only so much a little girl can do, though. Make sure you feel cute in your dress, but don't make it too fancy.
3. Wear button-up, old-fashioned boots. Pollyanna likes to explore and play. She can't be bothered with uncomfortable shoes.
4. Play the glad game with everybody you meet. Pollyanna liked to inspire other people to look on the bright side. She would express what there is to be thankful for in each and every situation. When it is said that Sundays are not an enjoyable day of the week, she expressed how one should be thankful that it will be a whole other week before they come around again!
5. Look in the mirror, and make sure that your costume looks modest and old-fashioned. Watch the film for any last minute inspiration and last minute touches to your costume.
