Draw A Train For Kids

Since their invention, trains have sparked the interests of many people.

Trains are some of the most recognizable forms of transportation, which continue to fascinate people of all ages. Children, especially, tend to enjoy trains and all things train-related. In addition to playing with model trains and collecting train sets, some children may enjoy drawing trains. Drawing a train is an easy project that most young train enthusiasts will appreciate.

Instructions

1. Draw two, identically sized and shaped circles, which will become the large wheels of the train. The wheels should be placed close together.

2. Create the driver's cab of your train by drawing a vertical rectangle-shape that extends up and above from the left wheel. The rectangle should be about twice as tall as the height of the wheels.

3. Create the body of the train by drawing a long, horizontal rectangle that extends from the base of the driver's cab and past the right wheel.

4. Draw a rounded edge onto the right side of the body of the train. Then, draw a rounded tip onto the middle of the rounded edge. You have just created the door that opens to the body of the train.

5. Draw two, much smaller wheels to the right of the larger wheels. These will become the train's front wheels.

6. Draw two, arch-shaped windows onto the driver's cabin of the train. Then, draw three small, vertical rectangles that extend up from the body of the train.

7. Draw a smaller circle inside of each wheel. Then, draw a small, vertical rectangle that extends down from the body of the train and over the front wheels.

8. Draw a short line to connect each front wheel to the rectangle drawn in step 7. Then, draw several lines that connect together the bottoms of the centers of each wheel.

9. Draw a thick line over the top of the cabin of the train, that extends out and toward the left. Draw a thick line over each of the two, vertical rectangles that sit to the right of the cabin of the train. These lines should extend only slightly over the edges.

10. Draw a funnel-shape over the remaining vertical rectangle. The funnel-shape should be wide at the top, funneling into the rectangle-shape. This shape becomes the train's smoke stack.

11. Draw several spokes that extend from the centers of each wheel. Then, draw a puff of smoke coming out of the smoke stack.
